Idiot Steals Semi and Tries to Outrun Police on California Highway

Some moron in California stole a semi and tried to evade police on a high speed chase. 

The chase lasted hours, and the guy hit speeds of 70mph.  

Initial reports said the trailer contained hazmat, but that later turned out to be false.  

We're tempted to say "only in California," but of course this isn't the first time this has happened.

What exactly goes through your head when you're trying to outrun police in a truck that big?  After surrendering, the man reportedly told the police that he, "Didn't want to go back to jail."  Probably shouldn't have tried to steal a semi then, pal!
