DTNA TO RECALL TRUCKS OVER DEFECTIVE TIRES

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will recall 863 2017 Freightliner trucks in connection with defective Goodyear tires (G399A LHS 295/75R22.5 LRG tires) that could result in an accident.

For the affected tires, a cure anomaly resulting in incomplete adhesion could lead to partial tread separation, which, in turn, could cause vehicle damage or a crash.

There's a truck recall related to Goodyear tires

The recall affects 2017 Freightliner Cascadia, Business Class M2, and 122SD trucks manufactured between Jan. 24, 2016 and Oct. 10, 2016.

DTNA says it will notify affected customers by mail on Jan. 6, 2017. “DTNA will inspect and replace affected tires where required.” the recall report says. “Repairs will be performed by Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facilities.”

DTNA says it was made aware of the Goodyear tire recall in September 2016 and opened an investigation. In October, DTNA decided to initiate a voluntary safety recall.
