72 Hour Inspection Blitz Coming Up
CVSA International Roadcheck set for June 6-8th
The 30th annual Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) International Roadcheck 72-hour inspection blitz will take place June 6-8, 2017.
The inspections are performed in conjunction with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and 10,000 CVSA-certified local, state, provincial, territorial and federal inspectors across North America.
Most examinations are American Standard Level 1 inspections, the most thorough roadside inspection consisting of a 37-step procedure that includes both the driver and the vehicle.
Focus on Cargo Securement Safety
This year’s special emphasis on a category of violations is focused on trucking’s cargo securement safety.
To help prepare for this added attention to cargo, Kinedyne, an equipment tie-down manufacturer along with Heavy Duty Trucking Magazine, are holding a free training webinar for fleets looking to reduce exposure to Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) violations and protect their Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Category (BASIC) scores.
Some of the topics covered include: what inspectors will be looking for and how to correctly prepare; key regulation and compliance tips to keep cargo secure; what fleets need to do to comply with FMCSA guidelines; and how to engage law enforcement in a non-confrontational way.
The webinar will be held on Tuesday, May 30th at 2:00 PM Eastern Time.
